Participatory Arts & Engagement Specialist’s mission is to provide innovative community-based arts programming for art galleries and museums across Canada. Our vision is to offer alternative ways of community engagement, exhibition presentation and progressive management practices to art galleries and museums who are looking for change. Our experience includes conceptualization, research, development and implementation of art programming, interpretation and education programming.
Dr. Scott Marsden has over 20 years of diverse and eclectic work experience in community-based exhibitions and public programming, combined with a rigorous background in academic research and development of collaborative and participatory approaches.
Dr. Marsden has significant leadership experience in art galleries and museums as well as academic qualifications including a Ph.D. (Arts Education) and an M.F.A. (Studio & Curatorial Practice). Furthermore, he has extensive experience at a senior level using innovative methodologies and alternative interpretive approaches to inclusive curatorial practices. He is committed to situating art galleries and museums as public places for civic engagement, sources of ideas, knowledge, information and spaces for informal learning.
